I believe some of the best things in life are homemade. I absolutely love food and it gives me great joy to share it with those I care for. From simple granola bars on a hike to a picnic on the beach to an elaborate dinner, good food gives us a reason to sit, stop and enjoy our surroundings and company, which nourishes us from the inside out.
I grew up in the suburbs, with blueberry and ostrich farms down the road. For a while the lot behind our house had a farm with chickens and goats. They mainly kept to themselves but stared in a very intimidating way when we accidentally threw a ball over the fence and had to retrieve it. Yet I always wanted to live in the big city, where the only plots of land resembling farms were the occasional community gardens. So I moved there for a few years when I finished university and worked in an office in a proper downtown corporate building. But I loved the weekend farmers’ markets and my patio herb garden was my pride and joy. I slowly realized that that life just was not me, so now I am back where I started and going to school again to become a holistic nutritionist.
I made this site to share recipes with friends, family and anyone who is interested. I sincerely hope you enjoy it and maybe get some ideas for healthy, fresh meals that you can make for yourself and your loved ones.
Love,
