Pumpkin pie spice blendPumpkin pie spice works for for many things besides pumpkin pie, it is the perfect compliment for apple chips or any kind of baked apple as well as smoothies and oatmeal. It is a mixture of warming spices that all help with digestion and it makes the whole kitchen smell amazing when it starts to cook. Pre-made versions are available at grocery stores everywhere but this is my go-to combination that creates a little over 1/3 cup:
3 tablespoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Serves: 4 cups
INGREDIENTS:
  • Apple Chips
  • 6 apples, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
  • Almond Yogurt Dip
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey to sweeten
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 225°. Arrange the apple slices side by side on 3 baking sheets. Sprinkle the pumpkin pie spice over them (2 teaspoons per tray) and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, flip the apples over and bake for another 30-40 minutes, until golden brown and the edges start to curl up. They will continue to crisp up as they cool then any extras can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
  2. While the apples are baking mix together all the dip ingredients in a medium bowl, cover and keep refrigerated until serving.
